On the last day of the dig, I found myself alone on the far side of the site, wondering why I hadn't gotten a single shot of me digging yet. No one was around to take a photo, so I set the camera up on a rock. I pretty much have this exact same photo of myself from every dig I've been on (although usually someone else takes it!). Shortly after this was taken, I uncovered a stone floor worn smooth with use, and I have to say, that stone floor was one of the only things yet that has really made my breath catch, made me run my hands over it and think, "people walked over this. Two thousand years ago".
